The quality of the food was lacking (prime rib was very fatty and not at all what we expected it to taste like). We had dinner at Jack Binion's Steakhouse on our most recent stay. The grout around the tub was discolored and the shower took way too long to warm up-a real waste of water. (Not my imagination, as I've heard many others complain of this same thing.) The 'renovated' rooms look as though the bathrooms were not touched by this renovation. New video poker machines do not pay off like the older ones did. I used to win here as often as not, but that has radically changed. I waited on hold for close to twenty minutes to get this charge credited. The 'resort fee' is supposed to cover this. It's a Vegas thing, but WE'RE NOT IN VEGAS!! To add insult to injury, they then charged me an extra $7.99 for internet use. No other hotel, to my knowledge, in Shreveport/Bossier does this. For quite a while now, I have been hating the 'resort fee' they tack on every stay, even the comped ones. It's tough and expensive to get any kind of deal on the weekend. They usually offer me at least two nights of comped rooms on each visit that is, from Sunday through Thursday. We live 175 miles away or I might have been there more often. First of all, I have been visiting Horseshoe three or four times a year since it opened.
